<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of a magnetic tape recording or reproducing device by the reduction of the number of components and also to lower the failure rate of the operation. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a drum motor 9, a driving gear 17 for running the magnetic tape, a cam gear 15 having a cam groove 15a, a mode slider 16 to be moved by the rotation of the cam gear 15 while having a cam pin 16a engaged with the cam groove 15a of the cam gear 15, and a movable gear 11 for selectively engaging with the driving gear 17 and the cam gear 15 in accordance with the rotating direction of the drum motor 9.</p> |
