PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer adhesion structure and its adhesive coating method, capable of controlling the quantity of an adhesive transferred to a spacer, and having improved workability, in an image display device composed by supporting a front plate and a rear plate through the spacer. SOLUTION: This image display device composed by supporting a front plate and a rear plate through a spacer 7 has such a characteristic that surface adhesion energy at contact parts of the spacer 7 relative to the front plate and the rear plate is increased and that an adhesive 4 for bonding the spacer 7 to the front plate and the rear plate is transferred and coated.
