PHOTOELECTRIC CONVERSION DEVICES MADE BY USING ETHEREAL ELECTROLYTES

Photoelectric conversion devices made by using electrolytes containing the following components (A) and (B) are excellent in long-term stability: an ether compound represented by general formulae (I), (II), (III), or (IV) [wherein R<1> to R<16> and R<101> to R<105> are each hydrogen or -O(CH2CH2O)a-A<1>(wherein A<1> is alkyl or alkenyl; and a is a number of 1 to 12), with the proviso that in each of the general formulae (I) to (IV), all of R<1> to R<16> and R<101> to R<105> should not be hydrogen simultaneously; and A is -(CH2)b- (wherein b is a number of 1 to 12) or -O(CH2CH2O)c- (wherein c is a number of 1 to 12)], and (B) a redox couple composed of iodine and an iodine compound or of bromine and a bromine compound.
