To determine steam turbine shaft temperature, exhaust steam temperature and pressure are measured. Enthalpy of exhaust steam is determined from these values. Steam pressure is measured at the critical location. Enthalpy ahead of the blading is determined from the pressure and specific mass at this location. Steam temperature at the critical location is then determined from the enthalpy and measured pressure before the blading. An Independent claim is included for corresponding equipment carrying out the method.
