PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive separator for a fuel cell having no problem in separator characteristics such as an electric resistance, excellent impermeability to gas, expansibility by liquid, mechanical strength and the like, excellent in formability and excellent in hydrophilic (wettability) of the space between ribs to water generated, and to provide a manufacturing method for it and a fuel cell using it. SOLUTION: A separator for a fuel cell is formed by providing a coated layer forming a contact angle with water of not more than 40 deg., on the surface a molding, and in a manufacturing method for this separator for the fuel cell, a hydrophilic monomer is applied on the surface of the molding and is then hardened, after a mixture containing expansive graphite powder and a molding resin is molded. In another manufacturing method for this separator for the fuel cell, a mixture of a hydraulic phenol resin and an epoxy resin is applied to the surface of the molding, and is then hardened, after a mixture of expansive graphite powder and a molding resin is molded, and the fuel cell has the separator mentioned above or the separator obtained by the manufacturing method mentioned above. |
