摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mount an output monitoring light receiving element on a place separated from a communicating light emitting element and to enhance the latitude on parts mounting by providing an optical filter on a divided part of a division type waveguide mounted on a substrate. SOLUTION: An optical communicating substrate 2 consists of a waveguide substrate having a planar division type waveguide 2a so as to remove a crossing part of an X branch type waveguide, and is fixed into a module package 4. An optical filter 3 is arranged on the place answering to the divided part A of the division type waveguide 2a. A partial signal beam among the signal beams emitted from the communicating light emitting element 5 passes through the waveguide 2a1 to arrive at the optical filter 3, and after it is reflected by the optical filter 3, it passes through the waveguide 2a4 to arrive at an optical fiber 8 and to be propagated from the optical fiber 8 outward the package 4. The signal beam not reflected by the optical filter 3 among the signal beams emitted from the light emitting element 5 passes through the optical filter 3 and the waveguide 2a3 as a monitor beam to arrive at the output monitoring light receiving element 7.
