In a conventional data structure of a disk where data is recorded by a CD-R multisession method, data is recorded in a read-out area every recording of a file and a session is formed. In multisession, the first address of the succeeding session recorded in the read-in area of each session is read chainedly, and hence the latest file structure recorded in the last session is read. The amount of information chainedly read corresponds to the number of file additional recordings, and search for the latest file structure takes a longer time depending on the number of additional recordings. Chain type information is recorded every file additional recording on a medium of write once type on which file management information and unrecorded area information are recorded for update every recording. Areas which are continuous and in which chain type information is recorded are ensured, and therefore the speed of an access for search for the latest chain type information is increased. Information on the addresses of the continuous areas ensured for chain type information is recorded in part of the chain type information.
|
