PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize the memory performance of a computer system by selecting a physical address for mapping to a virtual address and selecting a cache page address in that physical address in response to the system and process utilization of the cache page address. SOLUTION: A memory allocator 28 is equipped with a lot of data body structures provided with an empty memory array 30, a system counter 40 and a process counter 60 and a page allocator software routine 50 is connected so as to read data from the respective data body structures 30, 40 and 60. That software routine 50 is used when a page allocator receives a request for mapping a physical address to a virtual address with the system counter 40 and the process counter 60 and the cache page address in that physical address is selected in response to the system and process utilization of the cache page address.
