PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible for a capacitor for bias to hold constant charge by charging, from a DC power source, the amount of charge which is proportionate to the electric continuity time of a first switching element, in the capacitor for bias which is connected with a control terminal of a second switching element. SOLUTION: This DC-DC converter is equipped with a DC power source 1, a series circuit between a reactor 3 and a main terminal of a first switching element 4, a series circuit between a main terminal of a rectifier circuit 5 connected in parallel with a main terminal of the element 4 and a smoothing capacitor 8, and a switching control means 9 connected with the connection point of the rectifier circuit and the smoothing capacitor 8 and a control terminal of the first switching element 4. The main terminal of the rectifier circuit is a main terminal of a second switching element 5, one end is connected with the connection point of the first switching element 4 and a reactor 3, and the other end is connected to the smoothing capacitor 8. A resistor 11 is connected between the control terminal of the rectifier circuit and the DC power source 1. A control signal is applied through a capacitor 6 for bias, and makes the first switching element 4 and the second switching element 5 operate complementarily.
