PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a good image for a long period by preventing developer from being electrified to an opposite polarity in the case of repeatedly performing developing in a developing device by which a contacting member is brought into contact with a developer carrier, so that the developer obtained after developing is returned to a device main body. SOLUTION: As for this developing device, the developer storing inside the device main body is carried by the developer carrier 11, the amount of the developer is controlled by a control member, the developer is carried to a developing area opposed to an image carrier so that developing is performed, the contacting member 15 is brought into contact with the developer carrier obtained after development, and the developer obtained after the development is separated from the developer carrier and returned inside the device main body. The contacting member is constituted of at least two layers, and a first layer 15a brought into contact with the developer carrier is constituted of a material with wear characteristic whose ability for charging the developer to a polarity opposite to the polarity of the charge of the developer is higher than a layer 15b below the layer 15a. |
