PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrode structure capable of supplying uniformly moistening water to an electrolyte. SOLUTION: In this cell unit for a fuel cell, a gas chamber, to which a fuel gas is supplied as a reaction gas, in one side with respect to a cell having catalyst layers 25, 35 on both faces of a sheet-like or film-like electrolyte and having respectively gas diffused layers 26, 36, on the catalyst layers 25, 35, for diffusing reaction gases to be passed through, and a gas chamber in the other side of it, to which an oxidant gas is supplied as a reaction gas are arranged opposedly, at least one of the reactant gases flows passing through the gas chamber in humid condition, and the each chamber has recesses 22, 32 for making the reactant gas flow and protrusions 21, 31 for contacting with the gas diffusion layers 26, 36. The gas diffused layers 26, 36 contains a water- repellent material, and water repellency in a region contacting with the protrusions 21, 31 of the gas chamber in a moistened reaction gas flowing side is made smaller than than in a region facing the recesses 22, 32 of the chamber. |
