摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow unspecified number of users to freely perform multicast communication by allowing plural receiving nodes connected to all optical fibers constituting a fiber ring network to receive signal light transmitted from all transmitting nodes, to select only needed data and to transfer them to the next stage. SOLUTION: N pieces of plural transmitting nodes 1-1 to 1-n are respectively and separately connected to n pieces of optical fibers, and signal light transmitted to the optical fibers makes a round and terminates at a transmitting node. On the other hand, m pieces of plural receiving nodes 2-1 to 2-m are connected to all of the optical fibers in a fiber ring network 3 and all signal light propagating on the respective fibers is branched and inputted through an optical coupler 4. In such a case, the residual of signal light power branched by the coupler 4 propagates on the optical fibers and automatically copies the signal light. In the nodes 2-1 to 2-m, a respectively corresponding wavelength demultiplexer divides signal light branched from the respective optical fibers in each wavelength and can receive the signal light.
