PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain synchronization with high precision even when the C/N is small. SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiver is provided with a reception means 500 that receives a digital modulation signal resulting from multiplexing a synchronizing signal part whose number of signal points is less than a signal point number of a data signal part onto the data signal part, a synchronizing means 100 that detects a signal with a modulation system for the synchronizing signal from the received signal, uses the signal of the modulation system to apply synchronization to the received signal, a synchronizing word detection means 510 that detects a signal included in the synchronizing signal in the received signals outputted from the synchronizing means 100 and detects its absolute phase. The synchronizing word detection means 510 detects the synchronizing word signal and the absolute phase on the basis of a constellation resulting from the phase space into an asymmetrical '1' symbol area and a '0' symbol area on a constellation plane. |
