This invention provides crystalline, water-dispersible polyesters comprising residues of 4,4'-biphenyl dicarboxylic acid. The polyesters comprise residues of 4,4'-biphenyl dicarboxylic acid, at least one difunctional sulfomonomer like 5-sodiosulfoisophthalic acid and a polyethylene-glycol, e.g. diethylene glycol, in an amount sufficient to provide water dispersibility to the polyester, and a glycol or a mixture of glycols. The polyesters of the invention are useful in ink and adhesive compositions. |
