PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize the occupation of a buffer memory by means of data during a processing by processing an original digital signal with the sample of a continuous series and terminating the arbitrary series with a low frequency sample in calculation executed on the arbitrary series. SOLUTION: Respective samples are one row in one of digital pictures and filtering executed by a trellis is the vertical filtering of the picture. A conversion circuit contains two associated filters being a low path and a high path. The first row L1 of the trellis contains the samples ..., x2i, x2i+1,...} of filtering objects in original signals and the ranks of the samples are changed by one. An input signal is segmented by a boundary placed behind the sample x2i and behind the low frequency sample y2i of the lowest level and a branch segmenting the boundary is removed in the calculation of the samples t2i, v2i and y2i. |
