PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such an image forming device as to check data loss due to an error when an image is transferred between a printer control part and a printer engine part with a simple means in a short processing time. SOLUTION: This image forming device transmits image data in a page unit which is preliminarily stored as sample data in a sample data storing means 8 provided in a printer control part and the sum value of bits constituting the image data to a printer engine part through I/F parts 7 and 11 and performs error check by comparing a sum value calculated from image data in a page unit transmitted from an image data comparison operating part 16 provided in the printer engine part with the original sum value of the sample data.
