OPTICAL FIBER CABLE COMBINED WITH FEEDING WIRE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize the outer diameter of a cable by providing a tensile strength body of an optical fiber unit with a function as a feeding wire, reduce cable cost, prevent bending of the cable from causing remaining of transferring loss in an optical fiber, and facilitate a terminal process. SOLUTION: An optical fiber unit is formed by integrating a feeding wire 3 with an optical fiber 4 through a resin coating 6. In such optical fiber unit, the feeding wire 3 is formed on the outer periphery of a tensile strength body 2 comprising steel wires by stranding feeding wire conductors 1 comprising copper wires. As the feeding wire conductors 1, metal conductors whose volume resistirity at 20 deg.C less than 7.0×10-6Ω.cm are used.
