Use of tetra-fluoroethylene polymers to improve the chemical resistance, reduce the swelling index and improve the stress cracking resistance of styrene copolymers

The use of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) polymers to improve the chemical resistance, reduce the swelling index and improve the stress cracking resistance of styrene copolymers. Independent claims are also included for (a) thermoplastic moulding materials containing styrene copolymers, TFE polymers and optionally other components; (b) a process for the production of styrene polymers with better chemical resistance by making the components separately, mixing the styrene copolymer with a dispersion of the TFE polymer, optionally compounding with other components and then extruding the mixture; (c) an alternative process in which the TFE polymer is incorporated in the form of a solid or granules.
