摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve quality of a reproduced picture, attended with video signal processing control and control transit of a tape drive speed in the case that areas adopting different image compression systems are detected on the basis of system data recorded on a video tape when the magnetic recording tape of a digital video tape recorder is reproduced. SOLUTION: The digital video tape recorder is provided with a memory 6 that stores a reproduced video signal when a magnetic recording tape is reproduced and with a video signal output device 7 that reads the video signal from the memory 6 and outputs it. In the case that a change in an image compression method in recording of the magnetic recording tape is detected, the write of the memory 6 is stopped and the video signal reproduced before the detection of the change is continuously outputted to the video signal output device 7 to improve the quality of the reproduced picture otherwise deteriorated due to transition of control.
