摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load generation method in a material testing apparatus, in which the maximum value and the minimum value of a target load can be applied more precisely to a test piece even when a repeated load at a high cycle is applied to the test piece, and to provide a material testing apparatus. SOLUTION: In this load generation method in a material testing apparatus, a maximum target load value (MAXm) and a minimum target load value (MINm) are set. A control target input signal (Yi) as a repeated signal is computed on the basis of the maximum target load value and the minimum target load value, a load is applied to a material test piece 9 on the basis of the control target input signal, the load of the material test piece is detected by a sensor 11, and the output signal of the sensor 11 is sampled at a first time interval so as to be used as a feedback signal. Then, the output signal of the sensor is sampled at a second time interval which is smaller than the first time interval, a maximum load value (MAXo) and a minimum load value (MINo) are detected, and the control target input signal is corrected.
