摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily screen specific molecules. SOLUTION: An LB membrane which uses arachidic acid molecules 10 as host molecules ad which uses fullerence molecules 40 as guest molecules is formed on a substrate 30. The guest molecules function as spacers with reference to the host molecules, and they fulfill a function to expand the molecule interval between the host molecules. The interval between the host molecules can be controlled according to the size, the shape and the amount of the guest molecules which are used. When these conditions are set propery, a molecule interval control mebrane having an arbitrary host molecule interval can be formed as the LB membrane. The LB membrane has a function to adsorb gas molecules G1, and it displays a selective adsorption characteristic with reference to specific gas molecules according to the interval between the host molecules. By making use of the selectivity of the adsorption characteristic, the gas molecules can be screened, and the selectivity can be applied to the molecule discrimination apparatus.
