PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a driving device, which has a simple constitution, is operated at a high speed and has low power consumption, by integrally forming driving pulse generating circuits that supply driving pulses to pairs of row electrodes. SOLUTION: A display panel PDP 10 is provided with row electrodes Y1 to Yn and X1 to Xn in which a pair of X and Y makes a row electrode pair corresponding to each row (a first row to an n-th row) of one screen. Row electrode driving circuits 31 and 41 are independently formed. However, pulse generating circuits, that generate maintaining pulses IPx and IPy, are commonly used by the circuits 31 and 41. Since the driving pulse generating circuits, which supply driving pulses to pairs of row electrodes, are integrally formed, the constitution is simplified, a high speed operation is realized and the power consumption is reduced. Moreover, the resonance frequency is made lower as compared with a conventional driving device, the EMI disturbance is reduced and reactive electric power is also reduced.
