A composition for administration to a subject by means of a needleless syringe comprises particles which have a mean mass aerodynamic diameter of from 1 to 250 microns and an envelope density of from 0.1 to 25 g/cm<3>, the particles comprising a biologically active agent and a sustained-release material which controls the release of the active agent to the subject following administration.
