摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable electron emissions which are of highly accurate and which have a constant quantity to be obtained from an electron source while preventing the degradation of the characteristic and the breakage of the electron source. SOLUTION: In the constitution driving a display panel 101 in which plural electron emitting elements are wired with plural row wirings and column wirings in a matrix shape, a scanning circuit 102 selects one row wiring from the plural row wirings and applies a selection voltage to the wiring. An amplitude modulation circuit 107 and a V/I converting circuit 108 apply a driving signal to the plural column wirings respectively in order to drive electron emitting elements connected to the selected row wiring with a constant current in synchronization with the selection of the row wiring by the circuit 102. A limit value calculating circuit 110 calculates limited impression voltages for every electron emitting elements by considering quantities of currents to be made flow through the respective cold cathodes elements by the circuit 108 and voltage drops due to wiring resistances and a voltage limiting circuit 109 limits respective voltages which are to be applied to plural wirings of a column direction based on the calculated limited voltages.</p>
