SOLUTION: In the fixing device of the zone heating method that a heating element generating heat therefor is selected in accordance with the width of the recording material, when fixing a small size fixing material, the device is to adopt the heating element h1 capable of differing a heating quantity in the lengthwise direction of the heating element, and the paper size sensor is provided outside the part L1 generating a large heat quantity. Moreover, the device is to let plural heating elements simultaneously generating heat, and to provide the paper size censor outside the section generating a large heat generation in the lengthwise direction. |
