PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the operation of an in-circuit emulator easy and to enable event detection even when a program is transferred between different memories (e.g. a ROM and a RAM). SOLUTION: This event detection circuit 20 is provided with comparators 21 and 22 and registers 25 and 26. The comparator 21 outputs an event detection signal S1 when it is in a fetch state and also, the value of the register 25 coincides with an address signal ADDRESS. The comparator 22 detects a read operation which is from the same address as the value of the register 26 and is not fetch and rewrites the value of the register 25 to the value of the signal ADDRESS when the next write operation comes according to this detection. If an in-circuit emulator 100 sets a detection condition to the registers 25 and 26 once before transferring a program, the value of the register 25 is automatically rewritten to the address value of a transfer destination when it is transferred.
