Displacement control device and actuator

A displacement control device includes: a substrate; two diaphragms joined to at least side surfaces of a recess section made in the substrate; and a connecting plate sandwiched between the two diaphragms and joined to a bottom surface of the recess section. At least one end portion of each of the two diaphragms is joined to the connecting plate and an opposite end portion thereof is joined to the substrate. At least two piezoelectric/electrostrictive elements independent of each other are located at both the diaphragms in a state distributed thereto, and the connecting plate is driven to describe a hysteresis-like displacement locus. The displacement control device is properly applicable to a mechanism for adjusting displacement, position or angle of various kinds of precision parts such as optical units a rotating motor, a linear conveying apparatus, and others. <IMAGE>
