Moulding element for tyre tread mould

Part of a tire molding sector, comprises molding components. These are designed to form a rubber section bridging e.g. a groove in the tread. This is molded by an opening (5). Following molding and vulcanization, one component is mounted to move in the direction of extraction, relative to the others. This displacement opens an (irregular) passage (6). The rubber bridging section slips through the passage and is freed, without being broken. Preferred features: The components are mounted to slide relative to each other. Movement is radial (the direction of extraction), or includes components both radial and transverse with respect to the tire. Further variants are described with e.g. ramping and dovetailed sections.
