A new mixture (I) comprises (A) thiadiazuron (optionally together with diuron) and (B) cyclanilide (optionally together with ethephon), fluthiacet-methyl, pyraflufen-ethyl and/or carfentrazone-ethyl. Independent claim are also included for: (1) a defoliant composition (II) comprising (A), (B) and (C) one or more formulation auxiliaries; and (2) a method for defoliating plants, involving treating the plants with (I) or (II).
