PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To franch off an article without damaging it by a simple operation, to sort and ship articles efficiently, and to improve conveying speed. SOLUTION: In this article conveyance method in which articles are slid and conveyed in a series condition on conveyance lines arranged from a conveyance start end side 1 to a conveyance end side 2 in a gently inclined condition, respectively, and an article at the most end position is separated from a group of articles in a series condition by a carrying-out mechanism on the conveyance end side of each conveyance line to feed objects to a carrying-out conveyor automatically, a conveyance tip article A1 is stopped by a stopper 6, then a branching mechanism 4 is moved downwards, and the conveyance tip article A1 is slid and flows down by the stopper 6 stopping the conveyance tip article and the branching mechanism 4 provided with a pressing member 5 pressing and holding next article following the article stopped by the stopper 6. The next article A is pressed down by the pressing member 5 and is stopped, the branching mechanism 4 is moved again upwards to release the next article A pressed down by the pressing member 5, slide and let it flow down, and stop it by the stopper 6 so that the conveyance tip article A1 only is slid and flows down sequentially by the repetition of the vertical movement of the branching mechanism 4 to transfer it onto a transfer conveyor.
