PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent untreated garbage wherein fermenting treatment and aging treatment are not enough performed from being discharged from a discharge hole by mistake. SOLUTION: In a garbage treating apparatus wherein a garbage treating tank 39 for fermenting and aging treatment of the garbage is arranged in a casing 2 and an agitating means 40 for fermenting and aging treatment while the raw refuse is agitated is provided in the garbage treating tank 39, an opening and closing lid 85 is provided on the discharge hole 49 for discharging the final residue provided in the garbage treating tank 39 and the opening and closing lid 85 is constituted so as to be opened and closed by being linked with the agitating means 40.
