PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized thin-type closing device of a hinged door which dispenses with an operation for cancellation after cease of an earthquake and can prevent surely the hinged door from opening during the earthquake. SOLUTION: In this closing device of a hinged door, a case 13 having space inside is provided in the main body 11 of a holding unit and an opening 16 is formed in the bottom of the case 13, while a plurality of spaces 14 for movement are formed by partitioning the space inside the case 13 and a spherical body 17 is held movably in each space 14 for movement. A moving body 18 is so provided in the opening 16 as to be movable vertically and constitution is so made that the spherical body 17 can be put on the upper side of the moving body 18 by the force of a quake. The portion to the right end part of an operating body 23 is supported rotatably by the main body 11 of the holding unit, while the left end part on the hinged door 12 side is urged to move downward under it own weight, and the lower end of the moving body 18 is brought into contact with the right end part beforehand. A hook 27 is formed in the left end part of the operating body 23 and an engaging body 28 is fitted to the hinged door 12 so that the hook 27 be made to engage therewith in the upward rotation of the left end part of the operating body 23.
