PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a readily obtainable ceramic tube having low water absorption, slight defects and excellent strength and to provide a method for producing the ceramic tube. SOLUTION: This ceramic tube is obtained by baking a mixed raw material comprising 50-70 wt.% of SiO2, 15-25 wt.% of Al2O3, 0.5-2 wt.% of Na2O 1-3 wt.% of K2O, 1-3 wt.% of CaO, 0.5-2 wt.% of MgO, 4-8 wt.% of Fe2O3 and 2-8 wt.% of P2O5 and forming a glass layer 6 on the surface. Preferably, the ceramic tube contains quartz, mullite or NaAlSiO4. |
