PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the amt. of compounding of a colored liq. to the condition before color change when the color change of a printed matter after printing has been detected, and to improve quality of the printed matter. SOLUTION: In this color correcting method, a printing ink A extracted from a container is irradiated with a light to measure spectral properties of the transmitted light by means of a liq. monitor part 6a-6d and spectral reflectance of the printing ink A printed an a web printing sheet 4 is measured by means of a printed article monitoring part 5 and a value of the color is calculated from the spectral reflectance by means of an operation controlling part 7 to judge existence of change in color change. When it is judged that there exists change in the color value, the liq. monitor parts 6a-6d operate amt. ΔCi of addition of amt. of compounding of the printing ink A in a container based on the change of the spectral transmittance T(λ), and a base ink (a colored liq.) or a reducer (a transparent liq.) is fed into the container according to the amt.
