PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve waste treatment efficiency and to reduce labor necessary for maintenance work. SOLUTION: In order to clean a pyrolysis drum apparatus for pyrolyzing waste from a conveyer into pyrolysis gas and a pyrolysis residue in a rotary drum 27 of an oxygen-poor or oxygenless atmosphere so that adherent dust and the caught residue are discharged outside the drum 27, a prescribed amount of the small blocks of a rigid material 78 for scraping off the dust and the residue are supplied into the rum 27 through a conveyer with the rotation of the drum 27.
