PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite mold clamping device capable of continuously molding a molding of stable quality by performing operations of always suitably and smoothly closing a mold and clamping the mold with a relatively simple constitution. SOLUTION: The composite mold clamping device comprises a large-capacity linear motor 46 provided as a boosting means 24 adjacent to an engaging means 22 of a tie rod 14 on a fixed die plate 12, and a moving means 20 for rapidly opening or closing a moving die plate 18 mounting a movable mold 16 by a ball screw and a servo motor in combination or a hydraulic cylinder to a fixed die plate. Thus, a mold is opened or closed by the means 20, the rod 14 is fixed to a predetermined position by the means 22, and then the motor 46 is energized to generate a mold clamping force.
