METHOD FOR DEODORIZING ORGANIC CONCENTRATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep up the deodorization of conc. sludge obtained by sedimentation and other method over a long period of time. SOLUTION: (1) A soln. or slurry containing 2.5 g equivalent/kg or more of alkali is added to an org. concentrate containing 3 mg/kg or more of sulfulic acid acidic ferric sulfate as Fe to hold the pH of the org. concentrate to 6-8. (2) An oxidizable substance is allowed to coexist in an org. concentrate with a pH of 6-8 containing 3 mg/kg or more of sulfuric acid acidic ferric sulfate as Fe to hold the oxidation-reduction potential thereof to a side more positive (noble) than -150 mV. (3) The org. concentrate is conc. sludge in an activated sludge treatment process.
