PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder device capable of providing a restricting force against a deflection of a piston rod 4 to prevent the piston rod 4 from contacting to an inner peripheral surface of a cylinder tube 5. SOLUTION: An inner diameter Ds of a cylinder tube 5, an outer diameter Dp of a piston rod 4, a length L of the piston rod 4 at a portion between the piston 3 and a cylinder tube end supporting portion, a maximum clearanceδbetween the piston 3 and an inner peripheral surface of the cylinder tube 5 in a condition that the piston 3 is inclined at a maximum, and a length a of a sliding portion 3 of the piston with respect to the axial direction have the relationship represented by 2 (Ds-Dp)/L>δ/a.
