PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair cosmetic preparation capable of enough keeping the power of fastening hair with each other, giving enhanced elasticity to a formed film, and giving excellent style-keeping power to the arranged hair, by compounding a keratose and a ampholytic polymer comprising a specific betainized diaminoalkylacrylate copolymer. SOLUTION: This hair cosmetic preparation contains (A) a keratose which is cationized with a quaternary ammonium salt and (B) an ampholytic polymer which comprises a betainized diaminoalkylacrylate copolymer of the formula [R1 and R5 are each H or methyl; R2 and R3 are each a 1-4C alkyl; R4 is a 1-4C alkylene; R6 is a 1-24C alkyl or the like; A is O or NH; (n) and (m) are each a positive integer, provided that a ratio of (n):(m) is 9:1 to 1:1] and has an average molecular weight of 50,000-500,000. The ketorase is obtained by hydrolyzing keratin, and preferably has an average molecular weight of 5,500-35,200. The component A is preferably contained in an amount of 0.1-2.0 wt.% based on the total amount of the preparation.
