PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject foam excellent in water-absorptivity, water- retaining properties or the like by using specified materials as a polyisocyanate compound, a hydroxy compound, a catalyst, a foam stabilizer and the like, and specifying the foam characteristics. SOLUTION: The subject foam having properties such as 8-70 kg/m3 density and >=98% open cell rate is obtained by using (A) an aromatic polyisocyanate compound, (B) a hydroxy compound having >=1.0 average number of functional groups, and >=20 wt.% oxyethylene content, (C) a foaming agent such as water, (D) an isocyanate-based catalyst, (E) a foam stabilizer comprising a polysiloxane- polyoxyalkylene copolymer, having OH group at the terminal of the polyoxyalkylene polyether capped with another compound having no active hydrogen, and regulated so that the polyoxyalkylene may contain >=30 wt.% oxyethylene, and (F) a polyoxyalkylene derivative containing no active hydrogen, selected from an ionic polyoxyalkylene derivative not containing the active hydrogen, and the like. |
