PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet type yarn twister which can produce a strongly twisted yarn having a uniform quality and has high productivity by improving a double twister. SOLUTION: Many yarn-twisting units for twisting yarns drawn out from yarn-feeding packages and then winding up the twisted yarns on winding packages 2, respectively, are arranged. Each yarn-twisting unit comprises a rotary spindle 6, a turntable 7 integrally attached to the spindle, a stationary board 8 supported on the turntable through bearings 9, a yarn-feeding package supported on the stationary board 8, a yarn path 14 reaching the outer circumferential surface of the turntable from the upper end of the spindle, a balloon guide disposed above the spindle, the rotatably supported winding package above the balloon guide, and a rotary drum for rotating the winding package. The stationary board 8 is provided with a cylindrical outer peripheral wall 16 for surrounding the outer periphery of the yarn-feeding package. The inner space 17 of the outer peripheral wall 16 is filled with water. The yarn-feeding package is wound with a yarn preliminarily boiled for a prescribed time.
