PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject treating agent useful for the treatment of intermittent claudication, especially those based on peripheral circulatory disturbance such as obstructive arteriosclerosis or obstructive vasculitis, etc., by including a piperidine derivative as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This treating agent contains a compound of formula I [(n) is 2, 3; Y is H or a halogen; X is formyl, acetyl or H], e.g. 1-formyl-N- 2-[4-(5H- dibenzo[a,d]cyclohepten-5-ylidene)-1-piperidinyl]}ethylisonipecotic acid amide as an active ingredient. The dosage of the above treating agent is preferably, for an adult daily, 0.01-500 mg in oral administration, and 1μg-100 mg in parenteral administration.
