PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate correctly the absolute numbers of photographic paper per se or printable number of sheets by printing marks for sheet number counter on the rear surface of the photographic paper, and measuring the distance form the reference position to the sheet number counter, and thereby calculating the order of the photographic paper. SOLUTION: Bar marks 50 are printed at predetermined intervals Lr on the central part of the rear surface 34a of a rolled photographic paper 34, and they are used as reference marks for counting the absolute sheet numbers. Also, bar marks 52 are printed at predetermined intervals Lp on the upper end side thereof, and they are used as sheet count marks; the formed intervals Lr and Lp do not corresponding with each other in length. When the distanceΔa to the reference mark 50 is calculated by taking the sheet count mark 52 as a reference, the more the photographic sheet numbers are, the smaller the value becomes, and when the distanceΔb to the sheet count mark 52 is calculated by taking the reference mark 50 as a reference, the value becomes large, so that the distanceΔcan be calculated equivalent to the absolute sheet number of the photographic paper 34.
