PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject mud-adding material capable of being readily automatically measured, and directly poured into a working face, and excellent in stability and fluidity by including a composition obtained by adding a prescribed amount of a lipophilic stabilizer to a mixture such as W/O type water- soluble vinyl polymer emulsion. SOLUTION: This mud-adding material comprises a composition obtained by adding <=10 pts.wt. lipophilic stabilizer such as hydrophobic micro silica to 100 pts.wt. of the mixture of a W/O type water-soluble vinyl polymer emulsion with a granular water-absorbing resin such as a graft copolymer of a polyvinyl alcohol and a poly(meth)acrylic acid in the weight ratio of (99/1)-(50/50). Preferably, the water-soluble vinyl polymer is a homo- or co-polymer of acrylamide, and the oil phase of the emulsion is a liquid aliphatic, aromatic or alicyclic hydrocarbon, or a mixture thereof.
