PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing firebrick, capable of producing firebrick hardly causing crack at a low cost even by omitting a drying process. SOLUTION: Combustible powder is added to refractory raw material powder, which is formulated with water to form a molding product raw material. The molding product raw material is molded into a fixed shape to give a molding product. The molding product is baked to give a sintered compact. In baking the molding product, the combustible powder is burnt down to form gaps in the molding product. The gaps promote release of water contained in the molding product.
