PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce backwashing frequency and chemical washing frequency by preventing no only the outflow of SS from a biological reaction tank but also the clogging of a rear stage bacterial cell separator. SOLUTION: A housing chamber, of which the bottom portion is opened, housing suspended carriers 3B is formed to the region in the vicinity of the treated water outflow port 4 in an aeration tank 1 by a partition plate 6 and suspended carriers 3A with a specific gravity of 1 or more and floating carriers 3B with a specific gravity of below 1 are fluidized as carriers in the aeration tank. A carrier outflow preventing screen 5 is provided to the treated water outflow port 4. SS is caught by the accumulated bed 10 of the suspended carriers 3B formed in the housing chamber and the outflow of SS into treated water is prevented.
