PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the work related to a water purifying apparatus so as to be capable of effectively purifying water and to simplify the water purifying apparatus. SOLUTION: In a water purifying apparatus, a float 33 is floated on the surface 32 of the water 16 stored in a storage tank 21 so as to be made liftable corresponding to the fluctuations of the surface 32 of the water in an up-and- down direction. A flexible lead-out pipe 39 has a water introducing part 37, which is attached to the float 33 and opened to the water 16 in the vicinity of the surface 32 of the water, at one end thereof and extends downwardly from the water introducing part 37 and has a water lead-out part 38, which is opened to the outside of the storage tank 21 and has a lead-out passage formed therein, at the other end part thereof. The water introducing part 37 of the lead-out pipe 39 falls along with the float 33 from a position higher than the upper surface 13 of a filter material 3 and, when the opening 37a of the water introducing part 37 reaches the almost same height as the upper surface 13 of the filter material, the further falling of the float 33 is controlled by control means 46, 51.
