PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition which has good adhesivity to substrates, has specifically high weather resistance even in the case of a small plasticizer content, and is useful for coating timbers, and the like, by adding a specific vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-based copolymer and a phosphate ester- based plasticizer. SOLUTION: This resin composition for coatings comprises (A) a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate based copolymer prepared by copolymerizing an unsaturated carboxylic acid and/or an acid anhydride component and (B) a phosphate- based plasticizer. The content of the unsaturated carboxylic acid and/or the acid anhydride component in the component A is preferably 0.1-5 wt.%, and the content of the component B on the basis of the component A is preferably 0.5-30 wt.%. The component B includes plasticizers comprising phosphoric acid derivatives such as tricresyl phosphate. The composition may further be mixed with additives such as a pigment, a dye, a filler, a plasticizer and/or a solvent. |
