ENDLESS BELT AND ITS TAPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sense the position of an endless belt with a high accuracy for a long period of time. SOLUTION: An endless belt 1 is composed of a base material 2 in endless form and a tape 3 for positional indication adhered to the side edge of the base material 2. The tape 3 comprises a base material 11, reflection layer 12 formed on the base material 11, shading layer 13 formed on the reflection layer 12 in such a way that the layer 12 is exposed partially, and a protection layer 15 to cover the shading layer 13 and the exposed portion of reflection layer 12. The protection layer 15 consists of a resin film and is adhered by an adhesive layer 14 to the shading layer 13 and the exposed portion of reflection layer 12.
