PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To tilt out a window deflector depending on the opening position of a closing member only to the degree necessary for reducing the wind noise in traveling by providing a slidable closing member and a window deflector capable of tilting out. SOLUTION: This vehicle roof has a closing member 14 slidable within a roof plane to close/open the roof opening, non-stretchable drive cables 18, 20 for sliding the closing member 14, and a window deflector 32 provided on the front end of the roof opening and capable of tiling out from a rest position by a tilt-out mechanism 34. The drive cables 18, 20 are power-connected in their first ends 22 to the operating members 16 of the closing member 14, and driven by drive units 28, 30 in its central range. The drive cables 18, 20 are arranged so as to drive their second ends 24 in the direction reverse to the first ends 22 in the operation of the drive units 28, 30 and operate the tilt-out mechanism 34 of the window deflector 32.
